Urological Associates

Discreet solutions for a private problem.

Bonnie is preparing for her daughter’s college graduation at the stadium. This should be a happy time for Bonnie, 53, as she sees the last of her three daughters walk across the stage to receive a college diploma. But Bonnie is worried. When she has to go to the bathroom, she needs an escape route. Her frequent trips are disruptive to normal life. She doesn’t want to miss a minute of the special graduation ceremony. Bonnie and others like her —men and women alike — need to know that incontinence is not a normal aspect of aging.

The doctors of Urological Associates, Inc. specialize in treating bladder and urinary control problems for men and women.

Female Incontinence

Loss of urine control is not a normal aspect of aging for women. A range of conditions and disorders can cause incontinence. We can provide on-site bladder testing to determine the cause and proper treatment.

Male Incontinence

For men, an enlarged prostate, also known as Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH) is a common cause of urinary problems. Men may experience a weak urine flow, a sudden urge to urinate, frequent night time urination or difficulty starting to urinate. Urological Associates, Inc. offers several in-office treatments for an enlarged prostate.

  • The Prolieve™ microwave thermotherapy is one alternative to surgery or drug therapy. With this in-office treatment, microwave heat reduces enlarged tissue of the prostate, while a balloon attached to a catheter opens up the prostatic urethra. This procedure is fast – usually an hour or less – and patients return home immediately.
  • Prostiva® RF Therapy, formerly known as TUNA, provides a preferred option in minimally invasive treatment of urinary problems caused by BPH. Low-level radiofrequency energy is used to heat the enlarged inner part of the prostate. This results in shrinkage of the prostate and improved urine flow.

Our patients are reassured to find they don’t have to live with incontinence. With our modern equipment we can diagnose and successfully treat loss of urine control. Talk to our doctors about the best treatment option for you.
